2017 Scientists: Logistics & Facilities

Headquarters & Facilities

Innis Arden Cottage at Greenwich Point Park

The center of operations will be Innis Arden Cottage and the nearby grounds, which will be open and available to scientists for the entire 24 hours of the event.  The cottage and surrounding area, including grassy, beach, and parking lot areas, will be the main gathering place for scientists and exhibitors.

Arrival: You may arrive as early as 1:00 PM on Friday to start setting up.

Equipment/Logistics: You are encouraged to bring your collected specimens here for identification if ID in the field is impossible or impractical.  We will be under a huge party tent with plenty of room for your set-up.  There will be tables, chairs, electricity, lighting, and internet available.  Space will be assigned.  Lighting will be good but sometimes having your own desk lamps and illumination is helpful.  Please bring your field equipment, coolers, collection bottles, fluids, dissecting or compound microscopes, etc. as needed.

There will be plenty of food/water/coffee/snacks available for team members.

There is plenty of parking available to us and we are working on securing a couple of vans for people traveling from Storrs.

There are rooms in the cottage that will be assigned for specific functions, more info to come as we organize.

The Greenwich Point Park has a wide variety of habitat quite close to the center of operations.  Most of it is within walking or biking distance but cars are allowed in the park.  See the Bioblitz Area Map of these covered area and the tide schedule.
